Tropical fever

Back from my trip to the swakop carnival, I got inspired by their decor. Tropical beach theme was the scene at hand. And a brilliant technique used, that I have not yet seen. DIY palm trees, such fun decor items to have in a wide range of party themes, besides tropical beach, pirate party, jungle party, dino party, monkey party, beach barbie party, surf party and quite a few more specific party themes. What made this technique great though, is the simplisity of it. I have seen the balloon palms, cups palms, streamers from ceiling palms, pineapple palms, pillars wraped in material or brown paper bags palms...... but these pillars were wraped in crinkle cut cardboard rolles, and sponged/painted with dark brown paint for depth. And wired green tissue paper stuffed in the top. So easy, and it looked fab.
